  • Residential Ventilation Installation

Ventilation is becoming a more important aspect of the roofing system with weatherization updates that minimize the flow of air within a house. With additional air sealing around windows, wall cavities and crawl spaces, more moisture is being stored in the attic space. It’s important that air circulates through the attic to help control the temperature and minimize moisture levels. To achieve this flow of air, it’s important to have both intake and exhaust venting.

Intake venting is typically lower on the roof line and provides airflow into the attic. Products are available for both the soffit/overhang and the roof line.

Exhaust venting is located at the peak or ridge of the roof. It can work in a passive or aggressive manner. Standard roof vents or ridge vent can be installed to allow air to flow between the low and high end vents creating a passive system, or a power exhaust fan can be used to pull air from the soffits and out the roof peak at times of high temperatures or humidity levels.

To help control the moisture levels in the attic, Clow Roofing installs metal pre-painted direct air flapper vents that can be hooked up to any ventilation ducting that services exhaust fans for the bathroom, kitchen or laundry. This forces all of the moist air that is produced in these areas to be clear of the attic.

  • Gutter Installation

Proper installation of the right gutters and downspouts will ensure rainwater is effectively captured and diverted to protect your roof, siding, home, and yard from the damaging effects of water runoff.

Clow Roofing & Siding installs only heavy-gauge aluminum gutters and downspouts to ensure your gutters will not sag or warp over time – a common problem with vinyl gutters. The gutters are pre-painted with a lasting baked on enamel finish in a color that will match your home and your personal preferences.

The size of your gutters will be determined by the specific characteristics of your home and roof, but will be between 4 and 6 inches. Clow utilizes continuous gutters that will be cut to the exact specifications of your home, eliminating seams and joints, which are potential leak points.

Clow’s own designed and engineered gutter flashing will also guide water runoff more accurately, protecting water sensitive wood. Clow can also install gutter screens or guards such as “Gutter Shield” to ensure your gutters remain clean and free of debris that can clog your downspouts and cause your gutters to overflow.

Your Clow installed downspouts will be of the same heavy-gauge aluminum material. Clow will install 2″ x 3″ and 3″ x 4″ inch downspouts, depending on the requirements of your home.

Clow also offers downspout disconnect services if you would like to divert your storm water runoff from neighboring rivers.
